Friendly staff, yummy antipasto, scrummy wine, relaxing room with a rural outlook, though not vines as we'd expected.

I have a slight walking disability and poor balance, and the showers while vast had no railing and I fretted over the potential to slip on the tiles.

Friendly staff willing to go out of their way. The tour of the vineyard and winery plus winetasting was a bonus

Decor was a little tired and paint could do with a refresh especially in the bathroom where it was peeling off in places. A selection of tea flavours and a good quality local coffee (eg supreme) would be great too.

Our stay was relaxing amd quite, just what we needed :)

it would have been useful to have a microwave in the room :)

I loved the space of the villa, well supplied with treat comforts, freash warm and comfortable. The bedside lamps on for us arriving in evening a great touch, small thing but noticed. Look forward to staying again.

Quiet enough though almost time for refurbishment

Lovely setting. Very nice room and facilities. Friendly host.

We felt the lack of shower glass and fan/heater in the bathroom made it quite damp and the tiles stayed wet unless we dried them off.

This is our second visit to Margrain Villas. The first visit was many years ago so we knew they were in a good location amongst the vineyards and the accommodation was very nice. They did not disappoint this time. The villa was spacious and had everything we needed for a pleasant restful stay. The staff member who took care of us gave us options to try for a meal and we enjoyed a very good dinner at a local restaurant. We recommend Margrain to all travellers to Martinborough.

We have previously stayed in the Gate House, which we really enjoyed. The Villas were great as a base for the weekend as we are keen golfers who love our wine. It worked really well. Will be back very soon.

    Not a thing.

I loved the whole experience! The unit was set in a vineyard and was very quiet. The outlook was lovely and the staff were pleasant and helpful. It was a different experience from staying in a big city hotel and we really enjoyed it. From the villa we strolled to the town square down quiet roads next to the various vineyards and it was magic. Loved it!

The only issue we had was that we ran out of hot water for the shower andit was quite cool in the units so would be interesting in the middle of winter.

The location both within a vinyard, a vinyard region and close to a lovely town. The romantic style of the villas. The view from the villas. The privacy of the layout.

I wish the Villas had Air Conditioning, it would make the experience even better. In a really hot period I would think the villas may well get uncomfortably hot.h

Accomodation close to busy road. No sign of vineyard from villa. Not located at address shown on website

Lovely setting with own verandah. Comfortable room and huge bed with electric blanket. Really hot shower. Close to shops and wine tasting. Peaceful

Breakfast provision erratic eg no bread left one day/only milk for one/teabags not replenished. Cushions on deck chairs need an update. We were a bit lothe to sit on them. The wet room does not work...we had to put towels on the floor as it was awash for ages after shower.

Very interesting units, architect designed. Beautifully decorated. Great breakfast provided in the room and balcony with lovely views on which to eat it. Very relaxing. Staff very accommodating.

Loved the design of the villas and their outlook onto the green fields. Loved the way they were so close to the vines and how each villa had there own independent verandah. They were quite private from each other despite their proximity. The fact there was no children they were very quiet. They were well maintained and cared for.

There were several things that were quite small in the scheme of things and would not deter us returning as we thought it was a lovely spot, as I had already read the bathrooms were quite dangerous once you had showered and you had to be careful you did not slip and you moped up the water. The fridge was really loud and in the end we turned it off as it was disturbing sleep. Our villa was very close to the road next time we know to ask for a villa away from the road backing onto the vines, our villas verandah was not onto the fields and we would ensure to pick the correct number next time. They forgot to leave the toast in the room on our second day as they are not manned till 10am we missed out on this.
